Wednesday denied a<br>\nreport that protesting Indonesian workers are employed by shoe<br>\nexport factories which make footwear for the Massachusetts-based<br>\ncompany.<\/p>\n<p>Reuters reported Tuesday that more than 1,000 workers from the<br>\nPT Sindoll and PT Multi Beta Pertiwi shoe factories protested at<br>\nthe House of Representatives in Jakarta demanding higher wages<br>\nand better worker conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Reebok spokeswoman Denise Kaigler said Reebok subcontracts<br>\nwith footwear factories in Indonesia, but not the PT Sindoll and<br>\nthe PT Multi Beta Pertiwi companies.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;They are not making Reebok shoes nor have they done so in the<br>\npast,&quot; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Nike Inc. said Monday it severed ties with four Indonesian-<br>\nbased factories because they failed to adhere to the company&apos;s<br>\nrequirements for wages and working conditions.<\/p>",
