Reddit is testing audio and video content that allows users to enjoy\nposts in a format similar to TikTok.<\/p>\n
According to a report from TechCrunch on Monday (17\/8) local time,\nthe test is being conducted across several Reddit communities involving\nposts in video and audio format. The trial is being carried out to see\nwhich types of content users are most interested in and which have the\npotential to be developed more widely.<\/p>\n
Through this new feature, users will be able to choose to view posts\nin the usual text format or play the audio or video version if\navailable.<\/p>\n
Reddit content is often read aloud using text-to-speech technology or\npresented directly by content creators, then combined with on-screen\ntext or other videos such as gameplay and cooking activities.<\/p>\n
Reddit CEO Steve Huffman considers Reddit content in audio and visual\nform to be more engaging for users.<\/p>\n
For the initial stage, this feature is only available for a number of\nEnglish-language posts and can be accessed through the Reddit app on iOS\nand Android devices.<\/p>\n
Despite introducing a new format, Reddit has confirmed that original\ntext posts will not be replaced. Users can still read posts and comments\nand interact as usual.<\/p>\n
