Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono stated that\nRed and White Village\/Urban Village Cooperatives (Kopdes Merah Putih)\nwill not only function as economic drivers but will also be equipped\nwith complaint posts for women and children in the future.<\/p>\n
In an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, Ferry explained\nthat each Kopdes Merah Putih outlet or clinic will provide a dedicated\nspace as a complaint post for cases involving women and children.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our affirmative action to protect the interests of women and\nchildren in regions, villages, and urban villages,\u201d said Ferry during a\nmeeting with the Minister of Women\u2019s Empowerment and Child Protection\n(PPPA), Arifah Fauzi, at the Ministry of Cooperatives office in Jakarta\non Tuesday (31\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
The meeting discussed collaboration to strengthen women\u2019s roles and\nsocial protection at the village and urban village levels.<\/p>\n
According to Ferry, the presence of these complaint posts is\nessential to bring protection services closer to the community.<\/p>\n
In addition to protection aspects, the cooperation between the\nMinistry of Cooperatives and the Ministry of PPPA is also focused on\nstrengthening women\u2019s economy through the integration of the Kopdes\nMerah Putih programme with the Ruang Bersama Indonesia programme.<\/p>\n
Ferry added that his ministry will encourage productive women\u2019s\ngroups mentored by the Ministry of PPPA to transform into\ncooperatives.<\/p>\n
He assured that the support will not only include mentoring but also\nfinancing through the Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB).<\/p>\n
Ferry further noted that both ministries have agreed to promote\nactive participation of women in villages and urban villages to join\nKopdes Merah Putih and other cooperatives.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, PPPA Minister Arifah Fauzi welcomed the plan to provide\ncomplaint posts at cooperative outlets.<\/p>\n
She assessed this step as strategic for bringing violence prevention\nservices closer to rural communities, given that current regional\ntechnical implementing units are only available at the city\/regency\nlevel.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is very appropriate if one of the outlets is used as a place for\nhandling and, more importantly, for preventing violence against women\nand children,\u201d said Arifah.<\/p>\n
She added that this collaboration aligns with the Ruang Bersama\nIndonesia programme, which aims to collectively address various village\nissues, from economy and health to food security.<\/p>\n
As an initial step, both ministries agreed to immediately implement a\npilot project in several regions without waiting for the completion of a\nmemorandum of understanding (MoU).<\/p>\n
