Once again, INKA-manufactured electric commuter trains (KRL) have
experienced technical disruptions. The latest victims were the
Bogor-Jakarta route during Monday morning’s peak period.

Several passengers reported issues with the doors on one of the train
sets operating on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota route. In response, KAI
Commuter (KCI) issued an apology.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused. We inform you that KA
1203 (Bogera-Jakarta Kota) experienced a schedule deviation due to a
necessary inspection of the train set at Citayam Station, and it has now
resumed its journey,” KCI stated on its official Threads account on
Monday (28/9/2026).

A passenger named Janit reported that the incident occurred at 06:58
WIB at Citayam Station. At that time, the train failed to proceed as the
doors were repeatedly opened and closed. The train was only able to pass
through again at approximately 07:06 WIB.

According to Janit, door malfunctions frequently occur at stations
with high passenger density. However, once the train passed Juanda
towards Jakarta Kota and the passenger load decreased, the doors
returned to normal operation.

“Almost every station with heavy passenger loads experiences door
problems; once it is less crowded after Juanda towards Kota, the doors
become stable,” he said.

As a result of the incident, he reported being late for work.
Subsequent KRL services were also reportedly affected by the INKA train
malfunction.

“Consequently, I arrived at the office late. I checked the C-Access
Application to see the position of the trains following this INKA unit,
and found that the intervals between stations were quite tightly
compressed,” he added.

Three KRL Services Delayed

KAI Commuter apologised for the disruptions to the Bogor-Jakarta Kota
KRL services this morning. As a result of the malfunction, at least
three services on the route experienced delays.

“KAI Commender expresses its apologies to all users for the
inconvenience caused by technical issues with the door system of
Commuter Line No. 1203 on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota route, Monday (28/9)
morning,” said KAI Commuter VP Corporate Secretary, Karina Amanda, when
contacted on Monday (28/9/2026).

“The issue caused delays in travel along the Bogor-Jakarta Kota
line,” she added.

Karina noted that the incident began at 07:03 WIB. Initially,
officers received reports of a malfunction in one of the doors on the
third carriage from the rear of Commuter Line No. 1203 while stopped at
Platform I, Citayam Station.

“KAI Commuter officers immediately coordinated with the technical
team from PT INKA and the Train Supervision Officer (PUKRL) of Depok to
perform emergency repairs on-site,” said Karina.

INKA Previously Cancelled 17 Services

KCI had previously reduced the number of KRL services on the
Bogor-Jakarta Kota route until the end of September due to fleet
maintenance. PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), known as INKA, is
responsible for the maintenance of the problematic trains.

Senior Manager of Corporate Communication and Representative Office
of PT INKA, Nanang Agung Rohmandiyas, stated that his team is directly
involved in the maintenance of the iE305 series KRL fleet. He noted that
these inspections are conducted to ensure all components are functioning
correctly.

“Since the beginning of this process, our engineering and quality
assurance teams have been working alongside the KAI Commuter team to
ensure every component, including the bogies and propulsion systems,
functions optimally. We fully support this process to ensure the
reliability and safety of the fleet,” Nanang said in a joint release
with KCI and INKA on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

He emphasised INKA’s commitment to the quality and reliability of the
products used in KRL services. As part of this general check-up process,
INKA will continue to coordinate with KCI to ensure all manufactured
train sets meet safety and comfort standards for passengers.

“For us, this is a form of responsibility as a manufacturer and
synergy within the railway ecosystem, with the ultimate goal of
improving product quality for the comfort and safety of Commuter Line
users,” said Nanang.

Meanwhile, KAI Commuter VP Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda
explained that 17 KRL services were adjusted due to fleet maintenance.
These adjustments to departure times occurred during the morning,
afternoon, and evening.

“We are currently conducting intensive maintenance on our KRL fleet
to ensure the safety and security of travel,” said Karina.

The schedule included the cancellation of 7 services from
Bogor/Cilebut/Depok towards Manggarai/Jakarta Kota and 5 services from
Jakarta Kota towards Bogor in the morning, as well as 2 services from
Manggarai towards Bogor and 3 services from Bogor in the afternoon.
",
