        "content": "<p>Rector reported for embezzlement<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The rector of the Al-Aqidah Islamic Institute (IAIA)<br>\nFaturrahman Yusuf was reported to the city police on Monday for<br>\nallegedly taking funds from the school totaling Rp 600 million<br>\n(US$59,900).<\/p>\n<p>The Syi'arul Islamic Foundation (YDAI), which owns the IAIA,<br>\nalso filed a complaint against Faturrahman for moving<br>\nadministration and learning activities from IAIA's original<br>\ncampus in Matraman, Central Jakarta, to a location in Klender,<br>\nEast Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>According to YDAI legal representative Sholihin, the YDAI had<br>\nterminated Faturrahman's appointment as of Aug. 26, 2005.<br>\nHe was elected on Aug. 18, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Faturrahman, who was also a lecturer at the Jakarta State<br>\nIslamic University (UIN) in Ciputat, Tangerang, had reportedly<br>\napproved the graduation of 300 students in 2005, while the<br>\ninstitute only had 150 students. --JP<\/p>",
