        "content": "<p>Rector and student go to court<\/p>\n<p>BANDUNG: Bandung Institute of Technology Rector Wiranto Aris<br>\nMunandar and a student contesting his expulsion have failed to<br>\nreach an out-of-court settlement.<\/p>\n<p>The student, Budhi Sumarso, 23, is determined to continue the<br>\nlegal battle in the local state administrative court, said his<br>\nlawyer, Adnan Buyung Nasution, yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Budhi Sumarso was expelled from the institute earlier this<br>\nyear after a freshman died during initiation ceremonies held by a<br>\ncommittee headed by Budhi.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Satri Rusad suggested on Oct. 1 that the two disputing<br>\nparties should seek an out-of-court settlement before the court<br>\nproceeds with their case.<\/p>\n<p>In yesterday&apos;s session, Buyung questioned the legality of a<br>\nrectorial decree on the formation of the institute&apos;s disciplinary<br>\ncouncil which oversaw the initiation week.
