A newspaper advertisement recently promised a commission fee
\nof Rp 1.2 million for anybody willing to go to villages and
\nrecruit potential migrant workers, and this fee would be
\ndeposited at PT BL, a labor exporting company.<\/p>\n
Indeed, this sum of money would be attractive enough for
\nanybody to go to villages to find would-be migrant workers,
\nespecially women who mostly have low education and are easily
\nlured by the promise of high salaries when working abroad.<\/p>\n
Considering that our country is still in the grip of an
\neconomic crisis, working abroad is one way to change one's fate
\nfor the better.<\/p>\n
It is not my intention to say criticize labor exporting
\ncompanies which have branches in many regions. I am just
\nconcerned about the unhealthy competition among such companies,
\nespecially from the publishing of vulgar advertisements because
\nthose sent abroad are human beings.<\/p>\n
The focus of my attention is whether or not there is a clear
\nrule in the game for labor exporting companies on recruitment fee
\nand pay deduction in the place where the workers are employed. A
\nresponse from authorized government agencies, particularly the
\nmanpower ministry, would be highly appreciated.<\/p>\n
