        "content": "<p>TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - Recruiter LA enticed Indonesian migrant\nworker candidates (CPMI) with a monthly salary of Rp 10 million for an\nonline gambling admin position in Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Criminal Investigation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police\nStation, Police Commissioner Yandri Mono, stated that victims identified\nas AG from Garut and SP from North Jakarta were recruited by LA through\na WhatsApp group named \u2018Liburaaannnnn\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring questioning, both admitted to being recruited via social\nmedia and the WhatsApp group \u2018Liburaaannnnn\u2019,\u201d Yandri said in a written\nstatement on Thursday (28 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>They also lacked migrant worker protection documents, did not undergo\njob training, pre-departure briefings, or insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>This led to police preventing their departure to Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>The case came to light following a report about two female CPMI\ndeparting through Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on\nSaturday (17 January 2026).<\/p>\n<p>They were due to fly via TransNusa from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur\nbefore continuing to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>Further investigation revealed the suspected involvement of a woman\nidentified as LA, now listed as a person of interest (DPO).<\/p>\n<p>LA, a native of Bangka Belitung, acted as a recruiter and organiser\nof illegal CPMI departures to Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>However, after her activities were uncovered by police, she is\nbelieved to have fled abroad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRR is suspected of arranging travel tickets, directing departure\nprocedures, and connecting CPMI with those assisting with check-in and\nimmigration checks at the airport,\u201d Yandri said.<\/p>\n<p>RR admitted receiving Rp 500,000 for assisting with departure\nprocedures.<\/p>\n<p>Police seized two CPMI passports and boarding passes for flights to\nKuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have submitted a Red Notice to Interpol for further action,\u201d\nWisnu said.<\/p>\n<p>Those involved face charges under Article 83 in conjunction with\nArticle 68 and\/or Article 81 in conjunction with Article 69 of Law\nNo.\u00a018 of 2017 on the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, with a\nmaximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rp 15\nbillion.<\/p>",
