Recreation centers report few visitors<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Many recreation centers across the capital were quiet
\non Thursday with only a few visitors to be seen despite the
\nlingering Christmas holiday mood.<\/p>\n
The Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII) and Ragunan Zoo, both
\nof which are normally packed by Jakarta residents during the
\nholidays, were much less crowded than usual, leaving many outlets
\ndevoid of visitors. No long queues were to be seen in front of
\nthe ticket booths.<\/p>\n
A similar atmosphere prevailed in a number of recreation
\ncenters in Tangerang, Banten, with motorists heading for the area
\nbeing spared the customary traffic jams.<\/p>\n
Heru, a staffer at the Ancol Dreamland Park, revealed that the
\nnumber of vacationers visiting Ancol would not exceed the number
\nwho had descended on the amusement complex over the recent Idul
\nFitri holidays.<\/p>\n
"But the number of visitors will increase every night as we
\napproach the New Year's celebrations as we will be featuring live
\nconcerts," said Heru as quoted by Antara.<\/p>\n
On Thursday night, Ancol staged a concert featuring Slank, and
\nAri Lasso, Oppie Andaresta and David of Naif band.<\/p>\n
On Friday, it will feature rock and dangdut concerts.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, some malls and shopping centers like the Blok M and
\nCitra Land malls had yet to return to normal with few shoppers in
