        "content": "<p>Recovery talks in S'pore<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (AFP): Senior finance officials from 14 Asia-Pacific<br>\nnations will meet here this weekend to discuss ways of managing<br>\nAsia's recovery from financial crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day meeting beginning Sunday is the fifth since a<br>\nframework was set up in Manila in November 1997 to discuss a<br>\nresponse to the Asian financial turmoil which erupted four months<br>\nearlier.<\/p>\n<p>\"The meeting will hold regional economic surveillance<br>\ndiscussions, focusing on managing the recovery process and reform<br>\nof the international financial architecture,\" a statement from<br>\nthe Monetary Authority of Singapore said.<\/p>\n<p>It will bring together officials from Australia, Brunei,<br>\nCanada, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea,<br>\nMalaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and<br>\nthe United States.<\/p>\n<p>Senior representatives from the International Monetary Fund,<br>\nthe World Bank and the Asian Development Bank would also attend<br>\nthe talks.<\/p>",
