        "content": "<p>Recommendations to the govt<\/p>\n<p>In order to maintain a reform agenda, so that the goal of a<br>\nnew democratic Indonesia will be achieved, and as a result of the<br>\nSymposium on Clean and Good Governance, held in Bandung, the<br>\nCenter for Information and Development Analysis states that:<\/p>\n<p>1. In the case of corruption, collusion and nepotism practices by<br>\nformer president Soeharto, the People's Consultative<br>\nAssembly\/House of Representatives (MPR\/DPR) must force the new<br>\ngovernment, especially the attorney general to reopen the case<br>\nand finish it as soon as possible with a fair and trustworthy<br>\ntrial.<\/p>\n<p>2. In order to create clean government, the MPR\/DPR must force<br>\nthe new government under President Abdurrahman Wahid to declare<br>\nto the public the income of national and local government staff<br>\ntransparently.<\/p>\n<p>3. To avoid, anticipate and combat corruption more<br>\nsystematically, the DPR must immediately propose a new, more<br>\nrelevant anticorruption law.<\/p>\n<p>4. The dual function of the Indonesian Military (TNI) should be<br>\nterminated, and TNI should assume its original function as the<br>\nguardian of the country.<\/p>\n<p>5. We agree to the amendments of the 1945 Constitution to ensure<br>\na balance of power in executive, legislative and judicial<br>\ninstitutions.<\/p>\n<p>6. We urge the government to ensure that the Supreme Court be<br>\nindependent and free from interference of any pressure groups.<\/p>\n<p>7.
