        "content": "<p>Reclamation needs Amdal<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The government will continue to monitor the<br>\nenvironmental impact analysis (Amdal) being conducted in relation<br>\nto the planned reclamation project along the northern coast, an<br>\nofficial said. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Pl Coutrier, from the Environmental Impact Management Agency<br>\n(Bapedal) said yesterday that analysis regarding the reclamation<br>\nprocess will take a long time to complete and should be closely<br>\nand regularly monitored, Antara  reported.<\/p>\n<p>Coutrier said improving living conditions in Jakarta would not<br>\nbe affordable without the reclamation project.<\/p>\n<p>\"We hope that people will respond positively to the project,<br>\nwhich is indispensable because environmental damage is hard to<br>\nrepair,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Coutrier said the project would serve as a \"test case\" for<br>\nIndonesian engineers working on it. \"This will give them<br>\n(Indonesian engineers) valuable education and experience, since<br>\nthey will be able to learn a lot from their foreign counterparts,<br>\nwho will be hired by the government to supervise the gigantic<br>\nproject.\" (bas)<\/p>",
