It is not impossible to rebuild Aceh without incurring fresh
\ndebts. The rebuilding of Aceh must be viewed as a problem of all
\nMuslims the world over. If all Muslims can help Aceh rebuild
\nitself, Indonesia will no longer need foreign loans.<\/p>\n
It must be remembered that our debts now stand at some US$150
\nbillion. If "foreign donors", who have promised to donate a
\ncertain amount of money but cannot be expected to keep their
\npromises fully, help us to get out of this short-term disaster,
\nthey will drag us into a long-term disaster because with their
\ndebts we may be dependent on them. Besides, these debts may also
\nlead to foreign intervention in our internal affairs, as some of
\nthese foreign donors may have ulterior motives. If the government
\ncannot take care of its own people, who will?<\/p>\n
