        "content": "<p>The Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) of Bumdes Sejahtera in Rek\nKerrek Village, Palengaan District, Pamekasan Regency, East Java, which\ndistributes free nutritious meals to thousands of students, has violated\nthe rules set by the National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional or\nBGN).<\/p>\n<p>The regional coordinator of BGN in Pamekasan, Hariyanto Rahmansyah\nTri Arif, explained that the guidelines for distributing the MBG (Makan\nBergizi Gratis) menu require food to be ready to eat, not provided in\nraw form to students. \u201cIf young coconuts are given whole and unpeeled,\nthey are not ready to eat, which violates the rules,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the MBG menu provided to students must comply with\nBGN guidelines and meet nutritional adequacy standards.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the head of SPPG at Bumdes Sejahtera in Rek Kerrek Village\ndismissed the claims, stating that the MBG menu consisting of whole\ncoconuts, raw eggs, bread, and milk was merely a trial. \u201cIt is just an\nexperimental menu due to the approach of Ramadan,\u201d said Hairul\nHafid.<\/p>\n<p>He further argued that the raw menu given to students had been\nconsulted with relevant experts before being distributed to 3,000\nstudents in the Palengaan District area. \u201cWe dared to distribute it\nbecause we received permission from nutrition experts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>However, the distribution of the MBG menu did not follow BGN rules\nand guidelines, instead adapting to on-the-ground needs.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, since the\nprogramme\u2019s launch, has emphasised to all MBG kitchens the importance of\nprioritising animal protein to prevent stunting, ensuring hygiene,\nbalanced nutrition, and ready-to-eat meals.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, at the SPPG kitchen of Bumdes Sejahtera in Rek Kerrek Village,\nPamekasan, they distributed food that was not ready to eat, but rather\nraw items, including one whole unpeeled young coconut, raw chicken eggs,\nbread, and milk.<\/p>\n<p>The distribution of the MBG menu, consisting of young coconuts, raw\neggs, bread, and milk, occurred on Thursday, 12 February 2026, and\nlasted for two days.<\/p>",
