'RCTI' plan special round-the-clock shows<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): RCTI will go on air around the clock for eight
\ndays from Sunday to mark Indonesia's 52nd independence day and
\nits eighth anniversary.<\/p>\n
The climax will be a spectacular musical show broadcast live
\nfrom the Sudirman Central Business District on Aug. 24.<\/p>\n
Various programs have been prepared for the double
\ncelebrations, RCTI's public relations manager, Eduard Depari,
\nsaid yesterday.<\/p>\n
RCTI has lined up fairly new feature films like Jurassic Park,
\nSpeed, The Last Action Hero, Thunderbolt, Judge Dredd and Pulp
\nFiction for the occasion.<\/p>\n
A collection of Clint Eastwood's old films like The Dead Pool,
\nMagnum Force, The Gauntlet and The Enforcer will be among films
\nto be screened at midnights.<\/p>\n
There will also be a four-episode miniseries of Evita, with
\nFaye Dunaway in the title role.<\/p>\n
Fans of Si Doel will be able to get a glimpse of some bloopers
\nin the shooting of the successful local melodrama Di Balik
\nDapurnya Si Doel (Behind Si Doel's Kitchen). RCTI has prepared
\nsix half-hour episodes.<\/p>\n
Humor Ala Mahasiswa (Student Humor) is six half-hour episodes
\nof students competing in joke-telling competitions.<\/p>\n
And there is Kebetulan Sekali (What a coincidence), a half-
\nhour sitcom about a complicated elite Jakarta family, starring
\nSena Utoyo, Misye Arsita, Devy Permatasari, Ronnie Sianturi,
\nDeddy Rizaldi and Dewi Gita.<\/p>\n
For sports lovers there is a profile of National Basketball
\nAssociation star Shaquille O'Neal.<\/p>\n
The colossal 90-minute live musical show on Aug. 24, Dari
\nMegalithicum ke Megapolitan (From the Megalithic period to the
\nMegapolitan), is produced Jay Subiakto.<\/p>\n
Jay has enlisted the help of Sardono W. Kusumo, Bagong
\nKussudihardjo and Guruh Soekarnoputra to choreograph the Rp 1.6
\nbillion show.<\/p>\n
Tony Prabowo with his New Jakarta Ensemble, Erwin Gutawa,
\nJadug Ferianto and Aminoto Kosin will arrange the music. (04)<\/p>",
