Ratih may quit her post soon<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Presidential secretary Ratih Hardjono has
\ntendered her letter of resignation, a State Palace official has
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Head of the press and media bureau at the Presidential
\nSecretariat, Dharmawan Ronodipuro, told The Jakarta Post on
\nMonday night that Ratih wanted to concentrate on her upcoming
\nwedding plans.<\/p>\n
\"Ibu Ratih has submitted her resignation letter, but I still
\ndon't know the President's reaction,\" Dharmawan said.<\/p>\n
The resignation was said to be effective on April 1. People
\nclose to Ratih say she will marry a senior Nahdlatul Ulama
\nexecutive.<\/p>\n
The former Kompas journalist was installed as Abdurrahman's
\nassistant in November and was entrusted with prodigious tasks,
\nincluding preparing state functions.<\/p>\n
But palace sources said Ratih apparently did not get on well
\nwith First Lady Sinta Nuriyah.<\/p>\n
Her area of responsibility was also eroded with Marsilam
\nSimajuntak's appointment as Cabinet secretary and Bondan Gunawan
\nas secretary of development supervision in January.<\/p>\n
Dharmawan would not comment on the speculations. \"What I know
\nis that she wants to have more time to prepare for her wedding,\"
