        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, has\nsaid that Copenhagen, Denmark, a city over 900 years old, serves as an\ninspiration for Jakarta in planning its historic district without losing\nthe city\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n<p>Rano conveyed this during a working visit to Copenhagen on Monday 18\nMay, in order to accelerate the transformation toward a city that is\nmore comfortable, green, and citizen-friendly, according to a press\nrelease received in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, Rano held a bilateral meeting with Andreas Kiel,\nthe Mayor for Employment, Integration, and Business for the City of\nCopenhagen, who outlined Copenhagen\u2019s strategies for sustainable urban\ndevelopment, urban economy, tourism, and improvements to residents\u2019\nquality of life.<\/p>\n<p>He added that currently, the provincial government (Pemprov) of DKI\nJakarta is beginning to develop the Old Town area through a dedicated\nteam established under Governor\u2019s Decree No 1153\/2025, with the Vice\nGovernor of DKI Jakarta as Chair of the Revitalisation and Management of\nthe Old Town.<\/p>\n<p>The development is being undertaken with the central government,\nbusiness stakeholders, the community, and the private sector to deliver\nan Old Town that is a more vibrant and inclusive historic area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJakarta is strengthening its transformation toward a global city\nthat is not only economically advanced, but also comfortable to live in\nand that retains a strong identity that prioritises the quality of life\nfor its people,\u201d said Rano.<\/p>\n<p>In the meeting, the DKI provincial government also explored\nCopenhagen City\u2019s strategies, ranging from management of international\nco-operation and networks of global cities, through to the development\nof a liveable and sustainable city, and strengthening the city\u2019s economy\nand optimising regional revenue.<\/p>\n<p>Copenhagen is recognised as one of the world\u2019s most liveable cities,\nwith high-quality public spaces, transport, and urban design oriented\ntoward public comfort.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also discussed Copenhagen\u2019s development strategy that\nprioritises residents\u2019 quality of life through comfortable public\nspaces, cycle lanes, clean waterfront areas, and public spaces\naccessible to all residents on a sustainable basis.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Copenhagen City Government noted that every city has a\ndistinct character, so the concept of a liveable city must be tailored\nto the needs of its people, including Jakarta as a tropical city that\nrequires more shaded areas and comfortable spaces for public\ninteraction.<\/p>",
