        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the\nMinistry of Finance, through its Director of Outreach, Services, and\nPublic Relations, Inge Diana Rismawanti, has warned the public to remain\nvigilant against the growing number of fraud cases involving\nperpetrators impersonating tax officials or DJP representatives.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that fraudsters frequently exploit current tax-related\nissues as part of their schemes, such as the integration of National\nIdentity Numbers (NIK) with Taxpayer Identification Numbers (NPWP), tax\ndata confirmation, the implementation of the Coretax DJP application,\nand even rumours of transfers or promotions of DJP officials and\nstaff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DJP once again reminds the public to remain vigilant against\nfraudulent schemes carried out in the name of DJP Officials\/Staff,\u201d said\nInge in a statement on Monday, 16 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that one common method used by fraudsters involves\ncontacting potential victims through WhatsApp and requesting them to\ndownload files in .apk format.<\/p>\n<p>Other methods include sending links to download a counterfeit M-Pajak\napplication, or similarly contacting victims via WhatsApp to make\nvarious demands. These include requests concerning settlement of tax\nbills, processing of tax overpayment refunds (restitution), and payment\nof electronic stamp duty through unofficial links.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey telephone members of the public and request money transfers\nwhilst impersonating DJP Officials\/Staff,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Inge advised that members of the public who receive such requests\nshould verify the information through official DJP channels, including\nthe nearest tax office, the Kring Pajak hotline at 1500200, email at\npengaduan@pajak.go.id, the X account <span class=\"citation\"\ndata-cites=\"kring_pajak\">@kring_pajak<\/span>, the website\npengaduan.pajak.go.id, and the live chat service at www.pajak.go.id.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Inge encouraged the public to report suspected fraud\nthrough the channels provided by the Ministry of Communications and\nDigital (Komdigi).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis can be done through the aduannomor.id website for reporting\nfraudulent telephone numbers, or aduankonten.id for reporting fraudulent\ncontent, links, and applications,\u201d she said.<\/p>",
