Rajek district wants high school<\/p>\n
TANGERANG: Hundreds of residents from Rajek district,
\nTangerang, threatened on Monday to stage a rally at the regency
\nadministration office in Tigaraksa because the administration had
\nfailed to build a senior high school in the district.<\/p>\n
\"Early this year, several district representatives met with
\nregent Agus Djunara, who promised to build the school soon, but
\nas of today, we are still waiting,\" one resident, Zaenal, who is
\nalso chairman of Tangerang Community Alliance, told The Jakarta
\nPost on Monday.<\/p>\n
He said that every time the district representatives asked the
\nregency officials when the school would be built, officials said
\nthat the administration had not yet acquired the necessary land.<\/p>\n
\"I suspect such reasoning as we know the administration has
\n300 hectares of land in Sukatani village,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He added the administration could easily use the land as most
\nof it, now managed by the regency agricultural agency,
\nremained idle despite its strategic location.<\/p>\n
He said the regency councillors had earlier confirmed their
\napproval for the land to be used for the school building. --JP<\/p>",
