        "content": "<p>&apos;Rainbow Warrior&apos; joins Aceh relief<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Part of the vast relief operation in Aceh is centered on<br>\nMeulaboh, the town worst hit by the tsunami that submerged most<br>\nof the west coast area, isolating survivors from assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Joining other relief workers in Meulaboh, such as those from<br>\nSingapore, the Doctors without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontiers,<br>\nor MSF) organization is also establishing a base in this town<br>\nwhere a third of its 120,000 population is feared to have<br>\nperished.<\/p>\n<p>Working with environmental organization Greenpeace, the<br>\nRainbow Warrior vessel departed Singapore on Monday with an MSF<br>\nteam and is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday in Medan, North<br>\nSumatra.<\/p>\n<p>The ship will become MSF&apos;s logistic center.<\/p>\n<p>MSF&apos;s head of mission in Jakarta, Sabine Rens, who has just<br>\narrived back from Aceh, said that there were many traumatized<br>\nsurvivors on the west coast, many with wounds needing immediate<br>\ntreatment, &quot;They need everything.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We&apos;re trying to provide everything in one go,&quot; she told The<br>\nJakarta Post on Monday, referring among others to medical<br>\nconsultations involving both physicians and psychologists, and<br>\nprovision of water.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the MSF team comprises 58 staff that includes 38<br>\nIndonesians working in Banda Aceh and other areas. It is also<br>\nproviding assistance at the Sigli Hospital in the Greater Aceh<br>\narea. To help overcome sanitation problems MSF is helping to<br>\nprovide clean water and sanitation facilities through their<br>\nmobile clinics.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday MSF workers spent the night at the Lamno and Lampe<br>\nNgo villages on the west coast, which is currently hosting some<br>\n14,000 refugees.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Eighty percent of the population is missing&quot;, a release from<br>\nMSF said, quoting survivors. In Lamno almost all the wells have<br>\nbeen contaminated with salt water, MSF said.<\/p>",
