Raids continue on alcohol, prostitutes<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Five hundred bottles of alcohol were seized
\nSaturday evening from sites without permits to sell alcohol.<\/p>\n
The city's public order agency also picked up six street
\nprostitutes operating at the National Monument Park in Central
\nJakarta. They were taken to a temporary home run by the social
\nservices agency in Kedoya, West Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Prostitutes are usually only allowed to be taken to Kramat
\nTunggak, North Jakarta, officially a rehabilitation center for
\nsex workers.<\/p>\n
Toha Reno of the public order agency said the alcohol was
\nconfiscated from small shops and street vendors in the slums in
\nTanah Abang and Senen in Central Jakarta, Pulomas and Sunter in
\nNorth Jakarta, and Tebet and Pasar Rumput in South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Several of the bottles carried imported labels such as Miller,
\nTsing Tao beer and Johnny Walker. Local brands confiscated
\nincluded Bir Bintang, Kolesom wine, and John Roben.<\/p>\n
Toha said the operation involving 50 personnel is prone to
\nleaks.<\/p>\n
\"We have had information leaks before, so we keep quiet about
\nthe operation until the last minute,\" he said. (04)<\/p>",
