Rahardi leads trade mission<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): An Indonesian trade mission led by Minister of
\nIndustry and Trade Rahardi Ramelan will visit Germany on
\nWednesday to promote trade, investment and tourism here.<\/p>\n
Rahardi said on Tuesday that 30 businessmen, several senior
\nofficials from the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia and the
\nMinistry of Tourism, Arts and Culture would attend a meeting in
\nGermany called \"The Indonesia of Today\".<\/p>\n
He said that about 400 German businessmen would also attend
\nthe meeting, adding that he hoped it would provide them with a
\nclear view of prospects in the Indonesian economy.<\/p>\n
\"The current crisis in Russia has affected many German
\ncompanies and they are now seeking to relocate their investments
\nto Southeast Asia. We want to be ahead of other countries in the
\nregion,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Former minister of tourism, post and telecommunications Joop
\nAve, who currently serves as a presidential advisor on tourism
\naffairs, will address the meeting during the one-day visit.<\/p>\n
The meeting has been organized by the German financing company
\nKreditanstalt fr Wiederaufbau (KfW). (das)<\/p>",
