According to Ragunan Zoo\u2019s Public Relations Officer Wahyudi Bambang,\nthe exact time and sequence of the incident remain unclear as no\nofficial report was filed at the time. \u201cThe precise timing and\ncircumstances of the event cannot be confirmed due to the absence of any\non-site reports from staff during the incident,\u201d Bambang said when\ncontacted on Sunday, 15 May 2026.<\/p>\n
He noted that visitors in the video breached the zoo\u2019s safety\nregulations by crossing designated barriers. \u201cThe circulating video\nshows visitors exceeding the safety fences provided around the animal\nenclosures,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Bambang also indicated that the visitors treated the animals as a\nsource of amusement, filming the incident without showing alarm. \u201cThere\nare indications that the animals were used for entertainment or content\ncreation by visitors, evident from their lack of panic during the event\nand continued recording,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He attributed the incident to insufficient parental supervision. \u201cThe\nmanagement has installed safety barriers and multiple warnings reminding\nvisitors not to exceed enclosure boundaries, which could endanger both\nvisitors and animals,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
