Radio, TV to bring Java homes<\/p>\n

Are you worried that you can't get ticket to the upcoming Java
\nJazz Festival at the Jakarta Convention Center? Concerned that
\nyou'll miss a performance because of other commitments?<\/p>\n
Well, no need to worry, because television and radio stations
\nin major cities across the country have secured rights to
\nbroadcast selected pre-recorded performances from the biggest-
\never jazz event ever held here.<\/p>\n
The prime reason for the media fuss about this three-day event
\nis the commercial benefits, with advertisers eagerly eying
\nopportunities to air their ads in program breaks.<\/p>\n
For three days, starting March 4 through to March 6, jazz
\naficionados will be thoroughly indulged, with world class
\nmusicians including the godfather of soul James Brown, Eric
\nBenet, Tania Maria, Earth Wind & Fire, George Duke, Incognito and
\nmany more. Prominent local jazz muso's will also take part in the
\nevent.<\/p>\n
However, leave aside the business considerations and just
\ncheck out the treat for those jazz enthusiasts who do not have
\nthe time or opportunity to see the performances live on stage,
\nwill get from the efforts made by television and radio stations.<\/p>\n
Just turn on your television or radio and keep up with reports
\nsurrounding the event, as well as recorded performances of your
\nfavorite musicians.<\/p>\n
As of Thursday, day one before the event, some radio and TV
\nofficials were still busy getting the deals to present the best
\nperformances to your home or your cars.<\/p>\n
\"We've already got a deal to air live performances of Ruth
\nSahanaya and Jeff Kashiwa,\" Rudy Eko Heryanto, Project Officer
\nfor Java Jazz Festival at Trijaya Network, told The Jakarta Post
\non Thursday.<\/p>\n
He said that the schedule was yet to be fixed, but Trijaya
\nplans to dedicate three hours every night during the three-day
\nfestival to broadcast either recorded or live performances.<\/p>\n
\"We are trying to get the deal to air George Duke and Glenn
\nFredly live,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Trijaya Network owns radio stations in six large cities
\nthroughout the country including Bandung and Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile Trans TV, revealed that they would air about 10
\nrecorded performances sometime in the near future.<\/p>\n
\"The partnership with Java Jazz allows us to broadcast some
\nrecorded performances later after the festival. However, we
\nhaven't been informed yet about what performances we will be
\ngetting,\" Trans TV's creative producer Erna Ade said.<\/p>\n
\"We will set the broadcast schedule later,\" she added, but
\ngave no detailed schedule for when the station would air the jazz
\npackages.<\/p>\n
