        "content": "<p>Radar installed at troubled airport<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): A mobile radar has been installed at<br>\nKuala Lumpur&apos;s airport to replace one knocked out by a fire but<br>\nit will be another week before flight schedules return to normal,<br>\nMalaysian Airlines System said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>A mobile radar system, on loan from South Africa, was<br>\ninstalled at Subang international airport on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The calibration process will take a few days and the air<br>\ntraffic controllers also need some training to get familiar with<br>\nthe new equipment,&quot; said a spokeswoman for the airline.<\/p>\n<p>A fire on Aug. 13 badly damaged a US$6.7 million terminal<br>\napproach radar system, bought in June 1993 from France&apos;s<br>\nThompson-CSF. Takeoffs and landings have been reduced from around<br>\n28 to 30 an hour to 18, as air traffic controllers have had to<br>\nrely on radio communications and visual sightings.<\/p>",
