The People\u2019s Consultative Assembly (MPR) has expressed apologies\nregarding the viral decision by the judging panel that treated the same\nanswer differently in the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition held in\nWest Kalimantan, which gained attention on social media.<\/p>\n
MPR Deputy Chairman Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman assured that\nthey would evaluate the performance of the judging panel and the\ncompetition system.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe apologise for the judging panel\u2019s oversight. We will follow up on\nthis incident,\u201d said Abcandra in his statement on Tuesday (12\/5).<\/p>\n
He confirmed that a full evaluation of the competition\u2019s\nimplementation would be conducted promptly. Moreover, he mentioned\nhearing about a similar case in another province the previous year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI see that this Quiz Competition needs evaluation to make it better.\nThere should be no more incidents like this,\u201d said Abcandra.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, MPR RI Secretary General Siti Fauziah stated that they\nrespect public attention and input regarding the competition.<\/p>\n
The MPR understands that educational and youth development\nactivities, including quiz competitions, must uphold values of\nsportsmanship, objectivity, fairness, and integrity.<\/p>\n
Siti explained that the MPR would conduct a thorough evaluation of\nthe technical aspects of the competition, including the scoring\nmechanism, clarity of answer articulation, participant answer\nverification system, and handling of objections in the competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cPublic input will serve as important evaluation material to maintain\nthe quality of activities and public trust in the inclusive,\neducational, and integrity-driven national learning process,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The viral incident in the final of the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz\nCompetition in West Kalimantan Province began when the judging panel\ngave different scores to the same answer from teams B and C in a buzzer\nround question.<\/p>\n

However, one of the judges, Head of the Review Bureau of the MPR RI\nSecretariat Dyastasita, gave -5 points to Team C\u2019s answer.<\/p>\n
But when Team B gave the same answer, the judge awarded them 10\npoints.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, the core of the answer is correct. Score 10,\u201d said\nDyastasita.<\/p>\n
One of the participants from Team C immediately protested. They\nshowed confused expressions because their answer was penalised despite\nbeing the same.<\/p>\n
\u201cExcuse me, earlier we answered the same as Team B. The same,\u201d said\nTeam C.<\/p>\n
However, judge Dyastasita reasoned that Team C\u2019s answer did not\ninclude the Regional Representative Council.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarlier, Team C mentioned, the consideration from the DPD was not\nthere. DPR earlier,\u201d said Dyastasita.<\/p>\n
Team C protested again, stating that the initial answer had included\nthe Regional Representative Council. However, Dyastasita stood firm.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo the judging panel opined that the Regional Representative Council\nwas not there,\u201d said Dyastasita.<\/p>\n
Team C continued to protest and asked the judges to seek the\naudience\u2019s opinion on whether their answer included the DPD. However,\nDyastasita said the decision remained with the judging panel.<\/p>\n
Another judge, Head of the Secretariat Section of the MPR\nSocialisation Board Indri Wahyuni, instead asked participants to clarify\ntheir articulation when answering questions.<\/p>\n
