Quickest route to cemetery<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: Street rallies are not only a nightmare for the
\nliving they can also cause problems for the dead.<\/p>\n
A man's body was ready to be taken for burial Saturday in
\nSentolo, about 15 kilometers west of here, when a seemingly
\nendless United Development Party (PPP) motorcade interrupted the
\nfuneral procession.<\/p>\n
The deceased's relatives did not bother seeking police
\nassistance because the security forces were flat out trying to
\nensure safety during campaigning.<\/p>\n
Everyone of the mourners was confused until his son, Suhadi,
\nhad a brilliant idea. He asked PPP security task force members to
\nlead the ambulance carrying the body.<\/p>\n
With the task force's sirens blaring all the way to the
\ncemetery, the ambulance was not held up by party supporters. All
\nthe relatives had to do was shout, \"Viva PPP.\"<\/p>\n
\"Without the task force's help, we would have had to postpone
\nthe burial until late in the evening,\" Suhadi said triumphantly.
