The\nfirst registration phase had been held on 14 February 2026, with quotas\nfilling up completely.<\/p>\n
The overwhelming public enthusiasm triggered unexpected conditions.\nNumerous netizens expressed shock upon seeing estimated waiting times\nrunning into thousands of hours.<\/p>\n
\u201cEstimated queue time: 3,622 minutes and 40 seconds,\u201d read a\nscreenshot of the PINTAR website shared by Fifi Puspita Sari via her X\naccount @phihie<\/span>.<\/p>\n Fifi was not alone. Another X user, @nicolauseka<\/span>, also shared an\nextraordinarily long estimated waiting time, with the PINTAR website\ndisplaying an estimated queue duration of 1,994 minutes and 17 seconds\nbefore even reaching the subsequent stages.<\/p>\n After completing the online queue, registrants are directed to click\non \u201cRupiah Currency Exchange via Mobile Cash Services,\u201d then select a\nmobile cash location, choose an exchange schedule, input order data and\ncontact details, enter the rupiah denominations to be exchanged, and\nreview the order confirmation. The final and equally important step is\ndownloading the booking receipt.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought mine was already the longest,\u201d wrote @nicolauseka<\/span>.<\/p>\n \u201cNever mind, we\u2019ll get in after Eid has passed,\u201d replied @phihie<\/span>.<\/p>\n Based on VIVA\u2019s monitoring of the BI PINTAR website, the estimated\nqueue time as of 14:07 WIB remained considerable at 11 minutes and 41\nseconds, indicating that large numbers of citizens were still pursuing\nnew banknotes.<\/p>\n The surge in waiting times occurred as visitor numbers accessing the\nplatform simultaneously skyrocketed from the early morning hours.\nCitizens were racing to secure new banknote exchange quotas ahead of\nRamadan and Eid al-Fitr, given that the service has become a routine\nnecessity for the tradition of sharing cash gifts during Lebaran.<\/p>\n The new banknote exchange programme is part of Bank Indonesia\u2019s\nSemarak Rupiah Ramadan dan Berkah Idulfitri (SERAMBI) 2026 initiative.\nUnder the programme, members of the public are required to place orders\nonline through the PINTAR application before exchanging money at\ndesignated locations. BI does not provide direct exchanges without prior\ndigital registration.<\/p>\n Bank Indonesia had previously allocated Rp8.6 trillion specifically\nfor the public new banknote exchange service. Each individual is\nentitled to receive a new banknote package with a maximum value of Rp5.3\nmillion, comprising various denominations ranging from Rp50,000 to\nRp1,000.<\/p>",
