Quake jolts Jakarta, West Sumatra<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): An earthquake rocked Greater Jakarta for about
\n10 minutes late on Sunday night, causing panic among people
\nliving in high-rise buildings.<\/p>\n
The first tremors lasted for about eight minutes at 11:30
\np.m., followed by aftershocks which lasted for two minutes. No
\ndamage or injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Some panic-stricken people rushed out of their homes.<\/p>\n
The Meteorological and Geophysics Agency could not be reached
\nfor details about the quake.<\/p>\n
The quake was also felt in some West Sumatra cities, such as
\nPadang, Padang Panjang and Bukittinggi.<\/p>\n
An earthquake monitoring agency in Padang Panjang recorded the
\nquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale.<\/p>\n
A resident at an apartment on Jl. Rasuna Said in South Jakarta
\ntold The Jakarta Post that she waited for a while before
\nreturning to her apartment on the 21st floor for fear of
