Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian Government\nCommunications Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the activism\nand struggles of community organisations fighting for democracy,\njustice, and public welfare are essentially in line with the current\nwork of President Prabowo Subianto.<\/p>\n
Qodari made these remarks while attending the 36th anniversary\ncommemoration of the Association of Society for Humanity and Justice\n(HUMANIKA) in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat President Prabowo is fighting for and working towards is truly\nin line with what HUMANIKA strives for: democracy, justice for the\nIndonesian people, and prosperity for the Indonesian people,\u201d Qodery\nsaid, according to a statement received on Saturday.<\/p>\n
As a member and activist of HUMANIKA, Qodari noted that the community\norganisation has successfully managed its regeneration. He remarked that\nfew civil society movement networks are able to endure for several\ndecades.<\/p>\n
Since its founding in 1990 by New Order-era activist Bursah Zarnubi,\nthe organisation has remained committed to overseeing the consolidation\nof democracy, humanity, and justice.<\/p>\n
Its current members consist of individuals from various professions,\nincluding journalists, regents, judges, and even ministers and members\nof the House of Representatives (DPR), who continue to commit to\nmonitoring the government to ensure it does not deviate from the\nconstitutional mandate.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is no surprise that we heard Mr Bursah say, let us support Mr\nPrabowo so that he can carry out his duties well,\u201d said Qodari.<\/p>\n
The 36th-anniversary celebration was attended by the founder of\nHUMANIKA and Regent of Lahat, Bursah Zarnubi, senior activist Hariman\nSiregar, Minister of Environment Jumhur Hidayat, Deputy Minister of\nSocial Affairs Agus Jabo, several members of the DPR RI, as well as\ndozens of activists and other community figures.<\/p>\n
In his speech, HUMANIKA founder Bursah Zarnubi emphasised the\nimportance of maintaining the democratic system fought for by the 1998\nReformation activists.<\/p>\n
Consequently, he expressed hope that President Prabowo\u2019s\nadministration would continue to be well-monitored so that the promotion\nof democracy to the younger generation can persist.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe (President Prabowo) has a massive task that, in my view, has\nnever been initiated by previous Presidents. The revolution of Article\n33, and this must be supported; we must not bring him down before he\nsucceeds,\u201d said Bursah.<\/p>\n
Bursah linked this to the direction of President Prabowo\u2019s economic\ntransformation policies, which he believes increasingly reinforces\nArticle 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which governs the principles of the\nnational economy based on the principle of kinship and economic\ndemocracy.<\/p>\n
This is reflected, among other things, in the President\u2019s policies,\nsuch as strict action against trade manipulation practices in exports\nand imports (under-invoicing and over-invoicing) that harm state\nfinances, the implementation of the free nutritious meal programme\n(MBG), and other policies based on the principle of public welfare.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, for those who wish to bring him down, please be a little\npatient. At the very least, the five-year cycle should be maintained. It\nshould not be a constant cycle of falling and rising, or democracy will\nbe damaged.
