Qodari, warns that President Prabowo Subianto may face significant resistance from domestic and foreign interests due to his fundamental economic reforms. These reforms aim to overhaul natural resource management and address illicit practices such as under-invoicing and transfer pricing to ensure national wealth benefits the Indonesian people.

The Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), M. Qodari,
believes that President Prabowo Subianto potentially faces opposition
from various parties due to current economic policies. He cited examples
ranging from natural resource governance to trade regulations.

Qodari made these remarks during the book launch of ‘President
Solution’ in South Jakarta on Monday (8/6/2026). According to him,
Prabowo’s steps to improve national economic management could trigger
resistance from parties that have historically benefited from the old
system.

“I want to say this: it is not impossible that Mr. Prabowo is under
attack, under siege, or surrounded, because Mr. Prabowo is implementing
very fundamental changes to our trading methods and economic management
across various aspects. One of the most fundamental relates to natural
resource management,” said Qodari.

He explained that Prabowo is striving to return natural resource
management to the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which
dictates that natural resources must be controlled by the state and used
for the prosperity of the people. The government is currently conducting
evaluations of various natural resource management practices.

“At that point, he is conducting a thorough evaluation. For instance,
a derivative of Article 33 of the Constitution is that mining and
plantation lands should not belong to individuals, but to the state.
Currently, these are owned by individuals, and the funds used for
managing and developing these plantations are often borrowed from state
banks. However, once the products are sold, the foreign exchange does
not return to Indonesia but remains abroad,” he stated.

Qodari noted that the government is also working to rectify various
practices in export activities that are deemed detrimental to the state.
He mentioned that practices such as under-invoicing and transfer pricing
are major focuses for the government.

“There is under-invoicing and there is transfer pricing. Mr. Prabowo
wants to correct all of this so that the revenue for the nation and the
state becomes larger, and the funds can be used for the greatest
prosperity of the people, addressing fundamental national issues such as
food and energy security,” he said.

Furthermore, Qodari touched upon the formation of a new agency tasked
with recording and managing natural resource commodity transactions. He
noted that it is possible for parties to emerge in opposition to these
government policies.

“This includes the establishment of an agency to record and manage
all natural resource products to overcome issues like under-invoicing
and transfer pricing. In this context, it is not impossible that there
are opponents; there are dark forces that are unhappy with what
Mr. Prabowo is doing, both domestically and from abroad,” he
asserted.
",
