Qantas receives RI awards<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Australian airline Qantas Airways recently
\nreceived the Best Airline 2000 and the Best Business Partner
\nawards from the operator of Soekarno-Hatta airport, PT Angkasa
\nPura II.<\/p>\n
Qantas Airways airport manager Salam Ibrahim said Qantas
\nreceived the awards because of its excellent financial record,
\nhigh operating standards and excellent administration.<\/p>\n
The general manager for Qantas Airways in Indonesia said the
\nawards reflected the airline's commitment to providing the best
\nservice to its customers in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Qantas, the world's second oldest airline, had its first
\nflight to Jakarta in 1950.<\/p>\n
To date, along with 134 destinations in 37 countries, Qantas
\nserves routes from Jakarta to Sydney five times a week, with
\nconnecting flights to Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.<\/p>\n
It also flies from Jakarta to Perth twice a week, from
\nDenpasar to Darwin three times a week and from Jakarta to
\nSingapore five times a week, with connecting flights to Europe,
\nAustralia, Hong Kong and Bombay.<\/p>\n
Qantas established a joint office in 1999 with British Airways
\nin Jakarta as part of their alliance operation. (05)<\/p>",
