Qaddafi to visit Indonesia<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Libyan leader Moammar Qaddafi will pay a state visit to
\nIndonesia next month and hold talks with President Megawati
\nSoekarnoputri, a foreign ministry official said on Friday.<\/p>\n
Qaddafi's visit is \"tentatively\" scheduled for Feb.10, said
\nthe official, who declined to be named.<\/p>\n
Megawati met Qaddafi during her visit to Tripoli last
\nSeptember and said she had his support in the fight against
\nseparatist rebels in her country's Aceh province.<\/p>\n
Some leading members of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM),
\nincluding the military chief Muzakkir Manaf, were originally
\ntrained in Libya. Megawati said at the time that the training was
\nnot provided by the Libyan government.<\/p>\n
She also held talks with Qaddafi about the international fight
\nagainst terrorism.<\/p>\n
Western nations have long accused Qaddafi of sponsoring
\nterrorism. Ties have improved after he announced last month that
\nhe was dismantling all of his regime's weapons of mass
\ndestruction programs.<\/p>\n
Indonesia has in recent years been battling a series of terror
\nattacks blamed on the al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah.--AFP<\/p>",
