Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude to President\nPrabowo Subianto for visiting Vladivostok and attending the 11th Eastern\nEconomic Forum (EEF) as the primary guest of honour.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to express my thanks for the President\u2019s willingness to\nvisit the city of Vladivostok and participate in the Eastern Economic\nForum as the main guest of honour,\u201d said Putin during a luncheon with\nPresident Prabost during his visit to Vladivostok, Russia, on\nThursday.<\/p>\n
As monitored from the live broadcast of the Presidential\nSecretariat\u2019s YouTube channel, Putin stated that he was pleased to meet\nPrabowo once again.<\/p>\n
According to Putin, the personal relationship between the two leaders\nreflects the strategic nature of the bilateral ties between Russia and\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very pleased. Our personal relationship reflects the strategic\nnature of the bilateral relationship between Russia and Indonesia,\u201d\nPutin remarked.<\/p>\n
Putin identified Indonesia as one of Russia\u2019s key partners in the\nAsia-Pacific region. He noted that both nations have maintained friendly\nrelations for many years and continue to develop their trade\nconnections.<\/p>\n
Putin stated that the trade volume between Russia and Indonesia\nincreased by 12 per cent last year. The Russia-Indonesia Joint\nCommission on economy, trade, and technical cooperation also continues\nits active work.<\/p>\n
Russia, according to Putin, is focusing on developing bilateral\ncooperation with Indonesia in the fields of agriculture, shipbuilding,\ndigital technology, and energy, particularly nuclear energy.<\/p>\n
Putin also highlighted the free trade agreement between Indonesia and\nthe Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the cooperation between the two\nnations in various international forums, including the United Nations\n(UN).<\/p>\n
\u201cI am confident that today\u2019s meeting will provide a new impetus for\nthe bilateral relations between our two countries,\u201d said Putin.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the welcome\nand hospitality extended to him and stated his pleasure in visiting\nVladivostok.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also highlighted the relationship between Indonesia and\nRussia, which has endured for over 76 years since diplomatic relations\nwere established on 3 February 1950. He emphasised that Russia remains\nan important partner for Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, we are proud and happy that our relationship was able to\nescalate to a strategic partnership last year,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo is in Vladivostok to attend the 11th EEF, taking\nplace from 1\u20134 September 2026.
