In the meeting held on Thursday,\n9 April 2026, Purbaya highlighted the positive trends in the performance\nof the national automotive market. \u201cThe government is committed to\nproviding support so that the domestic automotive industry becomes\nincreasingly competitive globally, while also encouraging the transition\nto cleaner vehicles,\u201d he said in an official statement on Friday, 10\nApril 2026. According to GAIKINDO data, car sales in the first quarter\nof 2026 increased compared to the same period last year. This growth,\naccording to them, was strongly driven by the significant surge in\nelectric vehicle adoption among the public. EV car sales have increased\nyear-on-year.
