Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa conducted a visit to the\nTiffany & Co outlet in Plaza Indonesia to ensure the resumption of\nits operations. As previously reported, Tiffany & Co had committed\ncustoms violations involving the importation of goods that had not been\ndeclared and for which customs obligations had not been settled.<\/p>\n
Following these violations, the Directorate General of Customs and\nExcise conducted a customs audit and issued a Customs Assessment Letter\namounting to Rp97.49 billion, which includes an administrative fine of\nRp78.50 billion. The management of Tiffany & Co has expressed its\nreadiness to fulfil these obligations, including the payment of the\nadministrative sanctions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe party concerned has committed to complying with all applicable\nlaws and regulations,\u201d stated Purbaya.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Purbaya emphasised that the government consistently\nprioritises the principles of compliance, transparency, and\naccountability in its supervisory functions. \u201cThese efforts are\nundertaken to create a healthy business climate, providing certainty and\nbusiness continuity for all business actors in order to support the\nnational economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Finance Minister also urged all business actors to consistently\nfulfil their obligations and adhere to the provisions established under\nthe prevailing laws and regulations.
