Pupils poisoned in Bekasi<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Several pupils in Bekasi, West Java, were
\npoisoned Saturday by foodstuffs bought at vendors near their
\nschool.<\/p>\n
The pupils from four state-run schools were admitted to nearby
\nhospitals and clinics.<\/p>\n
A nurse of the Bekasi general hospital told The Jakarta Post
\nseven patients were in the emergency care unit. Nurse Ika said
\nfive other pupils returned home in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
The seven patients between eight and 10 years old were Nova,
\nRiza, Rapaz, Air Lingga, Herni, Yudi and Retri.<\/p>\n
\"Most of the patients had vomited while two of them had
\ndiarrhea\", Ika said.<\/p>\n
The nurse confirmed that the food was the cause, but did not
\nsay what the food was.<\/p>\n
No exact number of victims still under medical care was given.
