The Bogor Police have decided not to implement a full one-way traffic system on the Puncak tourist route until Eid al-Fitr in order to respect local community customs during the holiday period. Situational traffic management will be applied selectively at congestion-prone areas such as Pasir Muncang and Cisarua Market, particularly during evening rush hours before iftar, with full-scale traffic engineering expected to commence from Eid Day plus one.

The Bogor Police Resort has confirmed that it will not implement a
full one-way system (one way) on the Puncak Tourist Route in Bogor
Regency until Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. This policy has been adopted to
honour the tradition of family visits among the local community during
the Eid celebration.

Head of Traffic Operations Development at Bogor Police Traffic Unit,
Iptu Ardian Novianto, explained that large-scale traffic management will
only commence on Eid Day plus one when tourist traffic begins to
peak.

“During the holiday, we respect the community’s tradition of family
visits. Therefore, we will not implement traffic management yet as we
are concerned about numerous complaints,” said Ardian in Bogor on
Tuesday (17 March).

Despite the absence of a full one-way system, police are preparing
anticipatory measures in the form of situational traffic management at
congestion-prone hotspots. A system of road closures or partial traffic
management will be implemented in areas such as Pasir Muncang and
Cisarua Market if congestion occurs. This measure is typically employed
during the afternoon as people head out before iftar when vehicle volume
increases.

By Tuesday evening, mid-distance travellers from Jakarta heading
towards southern West Java and Central Java began to appear. The
travellers were predominantly motorcyclists with characteristic
additional backpacks attached to the front of their bikes.

“We can see an increase starting, however, regarding the peak
prediction of the holiday exodus, we still estimate it will occur on Eid
minus four or Eid minus three,” added Ardian.

Police have urged travellers to remain vigilant, particularly when
passing through at night after iftar time, given the uphill gradient of
the Puncak route and the risk of fog.

Police also provided safety guidance for riders planning to traverse
the Puncak route. This moment becomes a meeting point between law
enforcement, environmental conservation, without forgetting the side of
natural blessing that can serve as a source of livelihood for the
community.
",
