        "content": "<p>Pemalang, Central Java \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Public Works (PU) is\naccelerating preservation work on the Pemalang\u2013Pekalongan National Road\nsection to ensure the road is sound, safe, and comfortable for the\npublic to travel before the 2026 Eid holiday period.<\/p>\n<p>Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasised that this section is\nan important part of the strategic North Coast Java corridor with high\nvehicle mobility, and must therefore be ready before the peak migration\nsurge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Pemalang\u2013Pekalongan section must be ensured to be in sound and\nsafe condition for the public before Eid. This acceleration represents\nthe government\u2019s commitment to providing reliable infrastructure\nservices, particularly on high-mobility routes like the North Coast\ncorridor,\u201d Dody said in Pemalang, Central Java, on Saturday (28 February\n2026).<\/p>\n<p>Preservation work encompasses several priority segments focused on\nimproving road pavement structure to increase durability and driving\ncomfort.<\/p>\n<p>Several strategic points are prioritised for completion before Eid to\navoid disrupting traffic flow.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the Central Java\u2013DIY Regional Road Implementation Centre\n(BBPJN), Moch Iqbal Tamher, reported that physical work progress has\nreached 78.89 per cent, exceeding the target of 37.66 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The handling method is conducted through two types of work. The first\ntype is carried out without demolition of existing pavement, with the\naddition of new construction comprising AC-BC of minimum 3 centimetre\nthickness and concrete of fs\u201945 strength with 31 centimetre thickness,\nwith a curing period of 3\u20137 days.<\/p>\n<p>The second type involves demolition of existing pavement, followed by\nClass A aggregate work of 20 centimetre thickness, lean concrete of 10\ncentimetre thickness, and fs\u201945 concrete of 31 centimetre thickness,\nwith a curing period of 3\u20137 days to strengthen the overall road\nstructure.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to reconstruction work, preservation also includes\nroutine maintenance comprising hot asphalt mixture repairs and\nvegetation control along the route to maintain road user safety and\ncomfort.<\/p>\n<p>Through this preservation initiative, the Ministry of Public Works\nensures that inter-regional connectivity in Central Java remains intact\nand supports the smooth flow of the Eid exodus on the strategic North\nCoast Java corridor.<\/p>",
