Jakarta \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo,\nannounced that the stability rate of non-toll national roads has reached\n93.5 per cent, supporting passenger flow during the Lebaran exodus and\nreturn journeys this year.<\/p>\n
He stated that nationally, the non-toll national road network under\nthe Ministry of Public Works\u2019 responsibility spans approximately 47,603\nkilometres, with a stability rate of 93.5 per cent distributed across\nall regions of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Public Works Ministry is committed to ensuring infrastructure\nreadiness and supporting services through Public Works Minister\nInstruction Number 01 of 2026, which serves as guidance for all work\nunits in preparing for the Lebaran exodus period,\u201d Hanggodo said in a\nstatement in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Non-toll national roads form one of the backbone systems for public\nmobility during the Lebaran period, particularly on major corridors in\nJava and Sumatra.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the operational toll road network currently extends\napproximately 3,115 kilometres, consisting of 76 toll road segments\nacross Indonesia. This network is equipped with 136 rest areas (TIP),\n581 toll gates, and is managed by 54 toll road operating entities.<\/p>\n
During the Lebaran exodus and return period, an additional 10 toll\nroad segments totalling approximately 291 kilometres will be activated,\nalong with 15 functional rest areas across 9 toll road segments.<\/p>\n
The Public Works Ministry is ensuring the readiness of non-toll\nnational roads and toll roads to support smooth traffic flow during the\n2026 Lebaran exodus and return journey.<\/p>\n
Various measures have been implemented to ensure non-toll national\nroads, toll roads, and other supporting facilities remain in stable,\nsafe, and comfortable condition for public use.<\/p>\n
For context, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that private\nvehicles, particularly cars, are projected to be the most widely used\ntransport mode during the 1447 Hijri\/2026 Gregorian Lebaran transport\nperiod.<\/p>\n
According to government survey results, private car use is expected\nto account for approximately 25.98 per cent of total projected\npopulation movement during the 2026 Lebaran transport period.<\/p>\n
He noted that overall, the number of people estimated to travel\nduring this year\u2019s Lebaran period is approximately 143.9 million across\nvarious regions of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
