The Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, has revealed a proposed
additional budget of Rp34.33 trillion for 2026 to complete programmes
under Presidential Instruction (Inpres). Speaking during a working
meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in
Jakarta on Tuesday, Dody stated that the additional funds are essential
for fulfilling presidential mandates.

The proposed budget consists of Rp3.35 trillion to continue existing
multi-year contracts and Rp30.98 trillion for new activities. Dody noted
that the budget for regional Inpres programmes, such as regional
irrigation, is expected to be allocated following discussions with the
President and the directives from Commission V of the DPR RI.

He added that the proposal was submitted to the Minister of Finance
on 22 May 2026 and will be proposed through the supplementary
expenditure budget for the 2026 fiscal year. To realise the ‘Asta Cita’
agenda, the Ministry of Public Works aims to achieve the ‘PU 608’
vision, which requires support from all sectors, including local
governments. According to the Minister, infrastructure development can
no longer be conducted sectorally or partially, as current
challenges—such as district and city road connectivity, food
distribution, cross-regional water management, urbanisation, and
regional inequality—are cross-border in nature.
",
