        "content": "<p>Public Order officers sued<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Independent Journalists Alliance (AJI) of Jakarta<br>\nchapter launched legal action in the Central Jakarta District<br>\nCourt on Tuesday against Governor Sutiyoso, the East Jakarta<br>\nMayor and the East Jakarta public order office after public order<br>\nofficers allegedly intimidated a journalist on March 27.<\/p>\n<p>The organization demanded the accused apologize to Eddy<br>\nHariyadi, a reporter of the Warta Kota daily newspaper, in five<br>\nnewspapers and on two private television stations over the<br>\nincident.<\/p>\n<p>During the incident, the public order officers allegedly<br>\nintimidated Eddy, threatening him during his coverage of an<br>\neviction operation in Cakung area, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The alliance also demanded the accused pay Rp 100 million<br>\n(US$11,560) in compensation to an independent organization.<\/p>\n<p>The money would be used to buy shirts reading &quot;Don&apos;t Hit<br>\nJournalists&quot;, which would be given to all public order officers<br>\nin the city.<\/p>\n<p>AJI had earlier contacted the accused to get an apology for<br>\nEddy.
