Public Hospital Cipto Mangunkusumo is the largest and best
\nequipped hospital in Indonesia. The hospital also functions as a
\ntraining ground for medical students from the University of
\nIndonesia, Jakarta.<\/p>\n
However, the physical condition and services of the hospital
\nare, regrettably, distressing. For instance, the buildings, built
\nby government funds and foreign aid, are poorly maintained. The
\nhospital management should in fact be concerned with the
\ncleanliness of the vicinity. The ceiling of the emergency
\ninstallation is covered with mildew, and the chairs in the
\nwaiting room are no longer suitable for such a well-known
\nhospital in the capital city.<\/p>\n
Cleanliness levels are below standard. Trash and litter thrown
\naway by visitors is scattered everywhere. The services of the
\nmedical staff are poor. They put greater emphasis on the
\nfinancial aspect rather than giving quick treatment to needy
\npatients.<\/p>\n
It is time management took the necessary steps to improve the
\ncondition of this supposedly prestigious hospital.<\/p>\n
