        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) RI, Puan\nMaharani, has stressed that women must be placed as decision-makers in\npublic policy, not merely as those who bear the impact of global and\nnational issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen\u2019s involvement in a global context is a reflection of how\nseriously we place women as decision-makers, not merely as recipients of\neffects,\u201d Puan Maharani said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>At the forum \u201cWomen in Parliament: From Representation to Policy\nTransformation\u201d at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (21 May),\nPuan said global challenges such as geopolitical tensions, climate\ncrisis, and human security issues demand women\u2019s involvement in the\npolicy-making process of the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Puan said strengthening women\u2019s roles should not stop at political\nrepresentation, but must be materialised in concrete policies integrated\ninto the government system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommitment linked to real policies.
