The\ngovernment must move quickly to handle the earthquake\u2019s impact and\nrespond swiftly to the needs of affected residents,\u201d she said. According\nto Puan, rapid data collection can facilitate post-earthquake handling\nso that victims\u2019 needs can be met promptly. Logistics assistance, she\nsaid, must be distributed immediately and evenly to affected residents,\nparticularly those whose homes were severely damaged and people living\nin hard-to-reach areas. \u201cIf there are residents who are displaced,\nensure that evacuation shelters are comfortable and safe. The agency briefly issued a tsunami\nearly warning. Although the tsunami early warning has been lifted, Puan\nasked the government to continue monitoring the affected areas.\nResidents are advised to stay away from the sea for the time being. She\nalso asked the government to provide assistance to tourists who became\nvictims, noting that the earthquake was also felt in the Labuan Bajo\narea of West Manggarai, a tourist destination in East Nusa Tenggara.\n\u201cThese tourists are far from home.
