PT Telkom has problems providing new lines<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The state-owned telecommunications company, PT
\nTelkom, has asked prospective customers in West Jakarta who have
\napplied for new telephone connections for unoccupied buildings to
\nimmediately inform its West Jakarta office.<\/p>\n
Head of the West Jakarta Telkom office Kiskenda Suriahardja
\nsaid over the weekend his office faced various problems in
\ninstalling new telephone lines in the area.<\/p>\n
\"In some cases, when our personnel went to the addresses
\ngiven, they found the houses empty. In other instances, the
\nofficials found houses where phones were to be installed still
\nunder construction. They also often had difficulty locating some
\nof the addresses of new customers,\" Kiskenda said.<\/p>\n
He said such problems have adversely affected the office's
\nefforts to fulfill its promise to new customers that it would
\nprovide quick service.<\/p>\n
Due to such hitches Kiskenda asked prospective customers in
\nWest Jakarta who have applied for telephone connections to
\ncontact the nearest Service Point of the West Jakarta office or
\nto call 162 by Nov. 10 at the latest to clarify if their houses
\nare empty or still under construction. If no clarification is
\nreceived by that date, the telephone lines ordered will be
