        "content": "<p>PT PP (Persero) Tbk. (PTPP) has revealed that the construction\nprogress of the Bagong Dam Package III in Trenggalek Regency, East Java,\nhas reached 59.49 per cent as Vice President of the Republic of\nIndonesia (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected the project.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate Secretary of PT PP, Joko Raharjo, stated that this progress\nis faster than the planned target of 56.56 per cent. According to him,\nthis achievement results from planning, innovation, and collaboration\namong stakeholders in the project implementation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPT PP is committed to completing the Bagong Dam project on time\nwhile prioritising quality, occupational safety, and sustainability,\u201d\nsaid Joko based on his statement in Jakarta on Saturday, 2 May 2026, as\nquoted by Antara.<\/p>\n<p>The dam is expected to benefit the community, particularly in\nsupporting water resilience and increasing agricultural\nproductivity.<\/p>\n<p>This infrastructure has a storage capacity of 17.4 million cubic\nmetres and is projected to supply irrigation water for 977 hectares of\nfarmland in the Bagong Irrigation Area.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the dam will provide raw water at 153 litres per second\nand play a role in flood control in Trenggalek Regency.<\/p>\n<p>The Bagong Dam Package III project, undertaken by PT PP, has a\ncontract value of Rp 402.31 billion with a implementation period of\n1,473 calendar days starting from 20 December 2024.<\/p>\n<p>PT PP noted that the project faces technical challenges because the\ndam construction is based on a colluvial layer, requiring special\nengineering to maintain structural stability and safety.<\/p>\n<p>To address these challenges, PT PP has implemented construction\ninnovations to enhance work effectiveness while upholding occupational\nsafety standards.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit on 30 April 2026, Vice President Gibran stressed the\nimportance of accelerating the project completion so that the dam\u2019s\nbenefits can be felt soon by the community, especially farmers and\nresidents of Trenggalek.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the importance of synergy between the central\ngovernment, local government, and all stakeholders to ensure smooth\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>At the site, Gibran also gave appreciation to the project team and\ndelivered encouraging messages to the workers. \u201cKeep up the spirit,\u201d\nsaid Gibran.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice President\u2019s visit was attended by Deputy Governor of East\nJava Emil Dardak, Regent of Trenggalek Mochamad Nur Arifin, Deputy\nRegent of Trenggalek Syah Muhammad Natanegara, and several related\nofficials.<\/p>",
