        "content": "<p>PT Panarub clarifies<\/p>\n<p>With reference to the article published in The Jakarta Post on<br>\nMay 3, titled Panarub workers rally for JPK on page 8, we would<br>\nlike to clarify as follows:<\/p>\n<p>PT Panarub employs 11,000 workers and has two worker<br>\nassociations, namely the Association of Shoe Industry Workers<br>\n(SPTSK) and the Association of Textile and Hide Workers<br>\n(PERBUPAS).<\/p>\n<p>SPTSK has the majority, with 9,000 members, and PERBUPAS fewer<br>\nthan 300 members.<\/p>\n<p>As far as health allowance (JPK) is concerned, as demanded by<br>\nPERBUPAS, we discussed the matter with SPTSK and agreed that the<br>\nhealth allowance would be paid in December 2003. We even asserted<br>\nthat payment of the allowance could be made earlier, in September<br>\n2003, if all administrative matters could be completed.<\/p>\n<p>In principle, PT Panarub has no objections with regard to JPK<br>\nand its payment is only a matter of time.<\/p>\n<p>BERNARD, Human Resources Dept, PT Panarub Industry, Tangerang, Banten<\/p>",
