        "content": "<p>&apos;PT KAI not to blame for railroad accident&apos;<\/p>\n<p>PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: The state-owned railway company (PT <br>\nKAI) must not be blamed in the deadly collision between a coal <br>\ntrain and a Tasima Star 2000 intercity bus in Prabumulih, South <br>\nSumatra, on Sunday, a railroad official said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Basnawi, spokesman for Division III of the South Sumatra <br>\nRailroad, said that based on the Article 16 of Law No. 13\/1992 on <br>\nthe Indonesian Railroad Company, other vehicles have to give way <br>\nto trains passing through crossings.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We (PT KAI) must not be held responsible for the accident. <br>\nBut we will provide ex gratia payments for the victims&apos; <br>\nrelatives.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The coal train hit the bus at a railroad crossing in <br>\nPrabumulih.<\/p>\n<p>Eight people, including the bus driver, were killed and 26 <br>\nothers injured in the collision.<\/p>\n<p>Muara Enim Police chief Adj.
