PT Dragages gives quality service<\/p>\n
Meeting customer demand with ever-improving production
\nstandards is how best to describe the current track record of PT
\nDragages Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The most visible manifestation of this sky-high performance is
\nthe recent delivery of four of the 11 towers in the Taman Rasuna
\nproject.<\/p>\n
Company president Jacques Pelletier says: \"This project is
\nexceptionally located and certainly the first of its size and
\nquality in the center of Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\"It is the flagship realization of Dragages in Indonesia and
\nour best marketing tool for the years to come.\"<\/p>\n
Established in mid-1995, the company had 343 employees at the
\nend of that year. It now has more than 500.<\/p>\n
To cope with expansion 1996 was primarily a year of
\nconsolidation.<\/p>\n
Dragages confirmed its procedures and strengthened its
\norganization in all departments, especially with regard to plant,
\nsafety and quality assurance. This has been recognized by the
\ncompany being certified to ISO 9001 standard for design and build
\noperation.<\/p>\n
Another success has been the promotion of local staff. Each of
\nthe 11 towers in the project is now being managed by an
\nIndonesian senior engineer.<\/p>\n
The development of a strong partnership with established
\ncontractor Total Bangun Persada was another feature of 1996.<\/p>\n
It was born of the realization that with projects becoming
\nincreasingly sophisticated and involving more and more complex
\ntechnology it was necessary to have strong partnerships between
\nforeign expertise and local contractors.<\/p>\n
Dragages appreciates that it must be Indonesians that remain
\nthe main force behind meeting the development needs of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Pelletier believes this will benefit both the company and its
\nclients.<\/p>\n
\"At a moment when developers are constantly looking for more
\nand more efficiency, better quality and shorter construction
\ntime, I believe that this (partnership) approach ... is the most
\nappropriate way to meet our clients' needs,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He is confident that as clients recognize the quality of
\nDragages Indonesia's work new orders and further expansion will
